Following a hate graffiti incident at Magnolia Park the day after the Christchurch mosque attacks, a group of Muslim Arlington parents organized a gathering to joyfully reclaim the park for all Arlingtonians to enjoy.

This family-friendly included moments of reflection on the importance of inclusiveness in our community, opportunities to connect with new friends, a fun activity for kids, and a resource sheet to help adults educate themselves and their families on white supremacist messaging.

Co-Sponsored by the AHRC, Park Avenue Congregational Church and Calvary Church Arlington, several Commissioners participated in the event, in addition to selling Hate Has No Home signs and giving out Stand Up to Hate pins.

The group provided this handout on Responding and Preventing hate incidents.
