Dear Arlington friends and neighbors,
Arlington affirms, unequivocally, Black lives matter.
As we protest, and have important community conversations around race, we recognize joy is also an act of resistance. Join us in celebrating our diversity with a virtual event on Black Lives Matter Day, July 13, 2020.
The Arlington Human Rights Commission wants to invite you to submit a video of yourself reciting an original poem, performing, talking about a piece of artwork, or reciting a speech or poem that inspires you. The theme: Black Joy and/or What it is to be Black in America.
Videos cannot be longer than 5 minutes
You can submit more than one
Email ahrcevents@gmail.com with the names on the submission and if you want to participate in the live streaming event via Zoom
